The OASYS Research Group started in January 2018 at the University of Málaga. OASYS addresses one of the major and most important challenges of our modern society: the development of mathematical methods and solutions to achieve more efficient, secure and sustainable energy systems. April 2024 - Adrián Esteban Pérez has won the prestigious 'Margarita Salas Falgueras' award for his work titled 'Distributionally robust stochastic programs with side information based on trimmings'. The jury highlighted the significant contribution in Operations Research, particularly in areas such as financial risk management, production planning, and the operation of electrical energy systems.

July 2023 - Dr. Juan Miguel Morales, leader of the Optimization and Analytics for Sustainable Energy Systems (OASYS) group at the University of Málaga, has been recognized with the VII Fundación Banco Sabadell Award for Science and Engineering. The founding team included two PhD students, Adrián Esteban Pérez and Miguel Ángel Muñoz Díaz, as well as postdoctoral researcher Ricardo Fernández-Blanco.
